Johnathan “JD” Sloat
Veteran Service Officer (VSO)
JD Sloat started his position as a Veteran service Officer on March 10th, 2025. He was born and raised in the Chicago land area before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 2009. While serving on active duty he spent most of his enlistment at Yokota Air base, Japan. He led a team during Operation Tomodachi, after the earthquake and tsunami. This mission was humanitarian in nature and provided relief efforts in 2011.
After leaving the military, he attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing. JD spent time working in the NHL and Commercial Real Estate before finding a call to serve those who have served with the VAC.
When not working, JD is with his wife, three kids and dog, where they can be found in the forest hunting or fishing. He finds great serenity in being a voice for others and has an unwavering desire for personal and professional growth.
